Training on Digital monitoring & Evaluation systems

Training on Digital monitoring & Evaluation systems

The volunteer will strengthen staff’s capacities to develop digital MEL systems which implies: Google Sheets, Power BI, dashboards…

Description

Objectifs

My Village (MVi) is a Cambodian non-profit non-governmental organisation founded in November 2006 and officially registered with the Ministry of Interior on 25 January 2007. MVi operates in the northeast provinces of Cambodia, particularly Mondulkiri, Kratie and Stung Treng. MVi is a recognised local NGO working for Indigenous Peoples’ Rights and has been awarded Good Governance and Professional Practice (GPP) twice since 2012. MVi currently tracks its data using Google Sheets across eight ongoing projects in Mondulkiri and Stung Treng. While functional, this system does not allow the team to consolidate, visualise or extract data efficiently for donor reporting. MVi wishes to move towards more advanced tools such as Power BI to build dashboards and automate its monitoring.

The purpose of this mission is to strengthen MVi staff capacity to improve their M&E tools for monitoring project achievements and data across their current programmes — Indigenous community livelihoods, women’s leadership, and child rights.

This expertise is not available within the team and MVi cannot currently afford to hire a specialist consultant, which motivates the request for a Planète Urgence volunteer.

Intervention attendue du volontaire

– Week 1 — Preparation with the MVi team:
– Review of MVi’s existing Google Sheets data tracking system across the eight ongoing projects
– Identification of gaps and design of an improved architecture
– Development of training materials and tools adapted to the team’s current level (beginners)

– Week 2 — Training delivery:
– Data collection tools: structuring, standardising, avoiding duplication
– Introduction to Power BI: connecting data sources, building a first dashboard
– Indicator visualisation for donor reporting.
– Setting up automated monitoring files
– Hands-on practice using MVi’s real project data.

Working method: participative and practical, built on MVi’s own data rather than generic examples. All sessions delivered in English with Khmer translation.

Remarque(s)
