Training on business development & social enterprise management

Training on business development & social enterprise management

The volunteer will strengthen the capacity of senior LLC staff in business development and social enterprise management. The mission will support the team to identify revenue opportunities, design sustainable business models, develop business plans, and apply operational and financial management skills to diversify income and reinforce long-term sustainability.

Description

Objectives

Live & Learn Cambodia (LLC) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization with strong knowledge and expertise in livelihoods, environmental governance, sustainable natural resource management, biodiversity conservation, climate change, and disaster risk reduction. LLC’s sustainability strategy prioritizes diversification of income generation through social enterprises in order to secure additional resources and strengthen the long-term continuity of program interventions that support local communities.

To achieve this, senior staff need enhanced business development capabilities, from opportunity identification to business model design, marketing, financial planning, and operational management. Because the organization lacks access to specialized expertise locally, volunteers can provide practical training and experiential learning to build the skills required to develop viable business ideas, manage resources efficiently, and drive sustainable growth for the organization and its social enterprise initiatives.

Action expected of the volunteer

The volunteer will:
-Assess existing income-generation activities and identify gaps;
-Train senior staff in business development fundamentals;
-Support opportunity identification and market analysis (basic tools);
-Guide participants in developing business ideas and value propositions;
-Assist in building business models (e.g., Business Model Canvas);
-Support the development of simple business plans (marketing, operations, finances);
Introduce cost management and resource optimization approaches;
-Provide mentoring and feedback on proposed business concepts.
