Gramium is implementing watershed management programme and requests a mission to train the community youth in latest soil and water conservation techniques and latest agricultural techniques.

Objectifs

Gramium is working in Karur district of Tamilnadu and implementing watershed development programme for the sustainable development of the target community with people’s participation and contribution in Krishna Rayapuram and Kulithalai blocks.

The project area is a rain-fed area that largely depends on monsoons.

The main objective of the programme is to improve the livelihood of the farmers through sustainable agriculture by training the farmers in soil and water conservation methods which they can continue even after the end of the project.

The people from the target area would be trained in various water and soil conservation techniques and also cropping methods, which would reduce the cost of input and water.
