Training on agroforestry techniques

Training on agroforestry techniques

The aim of this mission is to implement a training on agroforestry techniques for the NTFP’s team (Non Timber Forest Products).

Objectifs

The main projects of the community development program of NTFP are about Long Life Learning and Livelihood Promotion, Cashew Nut Production and Climate Change and Housing Rights.

The team would like to support the communities into new agricultural techniques and develop a new project on agroforestry, including for example mushrooms, coffee or cacao growing techniques. The objective of this project would be to support the community’s access to nutritive food that does not rely on wildlife hunting and that is sustainably produced.

There is a little collection of fruits, vegetables and mushrooms at the moment but which is not sufficient to feed all the community. This mission’s objective is to, after an assessment of the situation, train the NTFP’s team on how to grow agricultural products in the forest. It might need several missions before the objective is completed.
